A quick guide to the islands off Cebu, Sumilon Island. Everything you need to know in the photo. Sumilon Island is a small shoal island that can be reached by boat or from Oslob. Undoubtedly, Sumilon Island is  a great place to spend the day relaxing, sightseeing and swimming in some of Cebu's purest waters.

Sumilon Sandbar is an offshore island, so you need to board a boat from the Oslob side of Cebu. The sandbars on the island are unique in that they constantly change direction. You may have noticed that the thinly stretched sand is growing from the fat from the south point. Monsoons bring tropical rain and tide patterns and change sandbars.

The nice time to come or to vacation in Sumilon Island depends on the typhoon season. Cebu has two major seasons.  Dry season and rainy season.

The best time to explore Sandbar Island is during or just before the dry season from November to May. Diving and snorkeling are possible  all year round, but these months provide the best visibility and weather conditions on the island.
